Ravelin Documentation MCP server

Configuration

This page provides configuration instructions for connecting the Ravelin Documentation MCP server to popular AI coding assistants.

Server URL

All configurations use the same endpoint:

https://api.ravelin.com/mcp/docs

No authentication is required — the Ravelin Documentation MCP server provides read-only access to public developer documentation and request validation tools.

Cursor

Cursor supports MCP servers through its configuration file.

Location: ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "ravelin-docs": {
      "url": "https://api.ravelin.com/mcp/docs"
    }
  }
}

After saving the configuration, restart Cursor for the changes to take effect.

Claude Code

Claude Code (CLI) reads MCP server configuration from its settings file.

Location: ~/.claude/settings.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "ravelin-docs": {
      "url": "https://api.ravelin.com/mcp/docs"
    }
  }
}

Restart Claude Code after updating the configuration.

Claude Desktop

Claude Desktop uses a separate configuration file for MCP servers.

macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "ravelin-docs": {
      "url": "https://api.ravelin.com/mcp/docs"
    }
  }
}

Restart Claude Desktop after saving the configuration.

VS Code with Continue

The Continue extension for VS Code supports MCP servers in its configuration.

Location: .continue/config.json (in your project root or home directory)

{
  "mcpServers": [
    {
      "name": "ravelin-docs",
      "url": "https://api.ravelin.com/mcp/docs"
    }
  ]
}

Windsurf

Windsurf (Codeium) reads MCP configuration from its dedicated config file.

Location: ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "ravelin-docs": {
      "url": "https://api.ravelin.com/mcp/docs"
    }
  }
}

Other MCP-Compatible Tools

For other tools that support the Model Context Protocol, use the following pattern:

  • Server name: ravelin-docs
  • URL: https://api.ravelin.com/mcp/docs
  • Transport: HTTP (streamable)
  • Authentication: None required

Consult your tool’s documentation for the specific configuration format.

Verifying Your Configuration

After configuring the Ravelin Documentation MCP server, verify it’s connected by asking your AI assistant:

“What Ravelin documentation pages are available?”

or

“Validate this Ravelin checkout request: {\"timestamp\": 1234567890}”

The assistant should respond with information from the Ravelin documentation or validation feedback, confirming the Ravelin Documentation MCP server is connected.

Troubleshooting

Server not connecting:

  • Verify the URL is exactly https://api.ravelin.com/mcp/docs
  • Check that your firewall allows outbound HTTPS connections
  • Restart your AI assistant after configuration changes

Tools not appearing:

  • Some AI assistants require enabling MCP support in settings
  • Check your tool’s documentation for MCP feature flags or settings

If you continue to experience issues, contact us or speak to your account manager.
